Auditions are open to ALL DBU STUDENTS regardless of major!
Scholarships are available to non-music majors who are selected as cast members and register for Music Theatre Workshop!
All students involved in the production MUST register for the Musical Theatre Workshop Course offered Fall 2027 (see www.dbu.edu/ensembles for course information) and must NOT register for any Winter/Mini Terms that interfere with the rehearsal schedule in January 2027. Zero credit option is available for those wishing to avoid fees for having over 18 credit hours.

Phase 1a - LATE SPRING 2026 (during DBU Choir Auditions) - ONLY FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN ON-CAMPUS COURSES AT DBU
Phase 1b - SUMMER 2026 (at NPO or by appointment with Dr. Brown) - FOR STUDENTS STARTING AT DBU FALL 2026
Phase 2 - AUGUST 2026 DURING FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES DURING MT WORKSHOP CLASS TIME/EVENINGS - DANCE AUDITION AND LEAD ROLES
Both phases must be completed to be cast.
Phase 1a & 1b - NO PREPARATION REQUIRED
Phase 2 Dance Portion (8/25 at 4:30 pm Roberts 206) - NO PREPARATION REQUIRED - Bring comfortable clothes and shoes.
All cast (including ensemble) members are required to complete the Dance Portion of the audition - be prepared to submit your Cast Commitment Form at the conclusion of the Dance Audition.
Phase 2 Lead/Named Role Auditions (8/27 beginning at 4:30 pm Roberts 206) - 1) Complete the interest form online so we know to schedule your audition, 2) bring a signed copy of the Cast Commitment Form above to the Dance Audition 3) be prepared for us to hear cuts from any of the following:
Auditioning for Anya - any part of Journey to the Past, In My Dreams or Crossing a Bridge
Auditioning for Dimitry or Gleb - any part of My Petersburg or Still
Auditioning for Vlad - any part of The Countess and the Common Man or Learn to Do It
Auditioning for Countess Lilly or Empress Romanov - any part of The Countess and the Common Man
Auditioning for Any other ensemble leads - select one or more from the list above
