Auditions are open to DBU STUDENTS who are seeking in person degrees regardless of major!
Scholarships are available to non-music majors who are selected as cast members and register for Music Theatre Practicum!
All students involved in the production MUST register for the Musical Theatre Practicum Course offered Fall 2026 (see www.dbu.edu/ensembles for course information) and must NOT register for any Winter/Mini Terms that interfere with the rehearsal schedule in January 2027. Zero credit option is available for those wishing to avoid fees for having over 18 credit hours.

Phase 1a or 1b in addition to Phase 2 are required for casting.
Phase 1a & 1b - NO PREPARATION REQUIRED
Phase 2 Dance Portion
Come prepared to learn a musical theatre dance audition in the style of the show. You may be asked to stay to learn an additional combination. Dress appropriately for a dance audition. Appropriate and modest dance or exercise attire is expected. Jazz or ballet shoes are appropriate for the audition. All cast (including ensemble) members are required to complete the Dance Portion of the audition - be prepared to submit your Cast Commitment Form at the conclusion of the Dance Audition.
Phase 2 Lead/Named Role Auditions
Prepare, memorize, and perform the appropriate cuts from the selections below for the character/songs for which you are auditioning. Most likely we will only hear one or two cuts at the initial audition. Do not expect to sing for every role in the show. Audition order, day, and time is determined by filling out the two forms below. Dress your best for the Vocal Performance Audition appropriate to the character for which you wish to be considered.
1) Complete the interest form online so we know to schedule your audition, 2) bring a signed copy of the Cast Commitment Form above to the Dance Audition 3) be prepared for us to hear cuts from any of the following:

Phase 2 Final Call Back Auditions - selected individuals will be notified on Thursday 8/27 in the evening via email. Come prepared to sing, dance and engage in dramatic readings from the script.

Our first Company Meeting/Rehearsal is Tuesday September 1st in Roberts 206 at 4:30 PM. Check the Weekly Call Schedule on this website for detailed plans for each rehearsal.
After casting, each cast member receives the script and score. Each cast member is responsible for learning lines, lyrics, and parts by deadlines provided in class.

Dates and times are subject to change and every actor may not be needed for every rehearsal, but should clear your calendar of all conflicts.
